Connecting People to Small Groups - A Followup Question
Many of you wrote excellent comments on small group connections. Thanks! The key thread is that personal invitations and personal assistance are a better way to help people connect with groups. The signups work better for a short term study such as 40 Days. So here is my followup question: Why don't more group members invite others to try their groups? How can we encourage more of that? Was it helpful to have all three pastors give input to the topic? Was it helpful for them to share in dialog fashion? Why or why not? What do you think holds people back from belonging to a small group? I can think of things like fear, unfamiliarity with something new, stuck in a rut, laziness, etc. And maybe a bad former experience with a small group, where a trust was betrayed or it was boring. But I've had some bad experiences with food and I still keep coming back to the table ...
